(d) The adjustment buckles operate correctly.
(e) The inertia reels are free from cracks and damage, and are securely attached.
(f) The inertia reel cable assemblies are not damaged or corroded.
(g) The shoulder straps move freely through the legs of the harness guides (5).
G. Examine the cable assemblies.
(1) Visually examine the cable assemblies, make sure the:
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheets 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 and 12)
NOTE
The inertia reel cables and harness lock/unlock lever are part of the 5-point harness
(10).
(a) Inertia reel cable assemblies are securely attached to the harness lock/release lever and are not
damaged.
(b) Cable assemblies (420), (430) and (435) are not damaged or corroded, and the outer cables are
engaged in the related cable end bush.
(c) Cable assemblies (420), (430) and (435) are securely attached to the bucket assembly (745),
plus the related operating lever (355), (375) and (380).
(d) Fore/aft cable assembly (420) is securely attached to the lock lever (530) and operating lever
(355).
(e) Vertical cable assembly (435) is securely attached to each of the vertical lock plungers (505).
(f) Recline cable assembly (430) is securely attached to each of the seat recline plungers (720).
(g) Rotate cable assembly (665) is securely attached to the lock pin housing (495) and rotate lever
(645), and is not damaged or corroded.
H. Examine the rotate locking plunger.
(1) Measure the protrusion of the rotate locking plunger as follows:
(Ref. IPL Fig 1, Sheets 11 and 14)
(a) Position the seat on its left side.
NOTE
The rotate locking plunger has two diameters. When correctly extended, the bottom of
the large diameter either touches the top of the carriage floor or has a maximum gap of
0.010 in., and the smaller diameter goes through the surface of the carriage floor.
(b) Visually check the rotate locking plunger (500) for correct extension. Make sure the bottom of
the pins large diameter is either touching the top of the carriage floor (170) or has a maximum
gap of 0.010 in., and the smaller diameter goes through the surface of the carriage floor.
(c) With your hand, make sure the rotate locking plunger (500) is not loose against its spring (490).
(2) Examine the rotate locking plunger (500) for damage.
