5.Closeandlatchtheseat.

CrankcaseCapacityis2.0L(2.1USqt)withthelter.
Usehigh-qualityengineoilthatmeetsthefollowing
specications:
APIclassicationLevelrequired:SJ,JK,SL,or
higher.
Preferredoil:SAE10W30(above0°F)
Alternateoil:SAE5W30(below32°F)
ToroPremiumEngineOilisavailablefromyour
distributorineither10W30or5W30viscosity.Seethe
PartsCatalogforpartnumbers.
CheckingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Beforeeachuseordaily
Every400hours/Yearly(whichevercomesrst)
Theengineisshippedwithoilinthecrankcase;
however,youmustcheckthelevelofoilbeforeyou
rststarttheengineandafteryouhaverunit.
1.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface.
2.Removethedipstickandwipeitwithacleanrag
(Figure37).Insertthedipstickintothetubeand
makesurethatitisseatedfully.Removethe
dipstickandchecktheoillevel.

3.Iftheoillevelislow,removethellercapfrom
thevalvecover(Figure37)andpouroilintothe
openinguntiltheoillevelisuptotheFULLmark
onthedipstick.Addtheoilslowlyandcheckthe
leveloftenduringthisprocess.Donotoverll.
4.Installthedipstickrmlyinplace.
ChangingtheEngineOil
ServiceInterval:Aftertherst50hours—Change
theengineoil.
Every100hours—Changetheengineoil(more
oftenwhenoperatingunderheavyloadorin
hightemperature).
1.Starttheengineandletitrunfor5minutes.This
warmstheoilsoitdrainsbetter.
2.Positionthemachineonalevelsurface,engage
theparkingbrake,shutoffthesprayerpump,
shutofftheengine,andremovethekey.
3.Releasethelatchonthebackoftheseatandlift
theseatforward.
CAUTION
Componentsundertheseatarehotifthe
sprayerhasbeenrunning.Ifyoutouch
hotcomponents,youmaybeburned.
Allowthesprayertocoolbefore
performingmaintenanceortouching
componentsunderthehood.
4.Placeapanbelowtheoildrain.
5.Removethedrainplug(Figure38).
