Checking the
Safety-Interlock System
The purpose of the safety-interlock system is to
prevent the engine from cranking or starting unless
the traction pedal is in neutral, the PT O switch is in
the O FF position, the parking brake is engaged, or the
operator is in the seat.
In addition, the engine should shut of f when:
• The operator leaves the seat with the PT O switch
in the O N position;
• The operator leaves the seat with the traction
pedal out of neutral;
• The traction pedal is pressed with the parking
brake engaged.
CAUTION
If the safety-interlock switches are
disconnected or damaged, the machine could
operate unexpectedly , causing personal
injury .
• Do not tamper with the interlock switches.
• Check the operation of the interlock
switches daily and replace any damaged
switches before operating the machine.

Checking the Engine Shut-Off

Service Interval : Before each use or daily
Before doing the following checks, perform the
following:
1. Sit in the operator ’ s seat.
2. Engage the parking brake.
3. Move the traction pedal to neutral.
4. Disengage the PT O.
5. Start the engine.
6. Disengage the parking brake.
Check the operation of the safety-interlock switches
by ensuring the following:
