Cleaning the Fuel T ank
Service Interval : Every 400 hours/Y early (whichever
comes rst) —Empty and clean the
fuel tank.
• If you store the machine for an extended period,
use a siphon pump to empty the fuel tank.
• If the fuel system becomes contaminated, use a
siphon pump to empty the fuel tank, clean the tank,
and use clean diesel fuel to ush out the tank.

Inspect the fuel lines for deterioration, damage, or
loose connections.

Electrical System Safety
• Disconnect the battery before repairing the
machine. Disconnect the negative terminal rst
and the positive last. Connect the positive terminal
rst and the negative last.
• Charge the battery in an open, well-ventilated
area, away from sparks and ames. Unplug the
charger before connecting or disconnecting the
battery . W ear protective clothing and use insulated
tools.
Accessing the Battery
1. Park the machine on a level surface.
2. Disengage the PT O, lower the cutting unit, and
engage the parking brake.
3. Shut of f the engine and remove the key .
4. Raise and secure the hopper; refer to ( Securing
the Hopper in the Raised Position ( page 42 ) ).
5. Remove the 2 bolts and washers from the
battery cover ( Figure 61 ).
6. Remove the battery cover ( Figure 61 ).
