Checking the Interlock Switches (continued)
5. Rise off the operator’s seat.
Note: The engine should shut off if you are out of the operator’s seat and the parking brake
is disengaged.
Checking the Parking Brake and Traction Pedal Run-Interlock
1. Sit in the operator’s seat and engage the parking brake.
2. Disengage the cutting-unit-drive switch.
3. Keep your foot off the traction pedal and start the engine.
4. Press the traction pedal.
Note: The engine should shut off if the parking brake is engaged and the traction pedal is
pressed.
Checking the Seat and Traction Pedal Run-Interlock
1. Sit in the operator’s seat and engage the parking brake.
2. Disengage the cutting-unit-drive switch.
3. Keep your foot off the traction pedal and start the engine.
4. Disengage the parking brake.
5. Rise off the operator’s seat.
6. Press the traction pedal.
Note: The engine should shut off if you are out of the operator’s seat and press the traction
pedal.

Starting the Engine
IMPORTANT
You must bleed the fuel system before starting the engine if you are starting the
engine for the first time, the engine has shut off due to lack of fuel, or you have
performed maintenance on the fuel system; refer to Bleeding the Fuel System, page
5–9.
1. Ensure that the parking brake is engaged, and the cutting-unit-drive switch is in the
D
ISENGAGE position.
2. Remove your foot from the traction pedal and ensure that the pedal is in the neutral
position.
