MowCircuit(5410/5410-D/5510/5510-D/5610)
A4-sectiongearpumpiscoupledtothepiston(traction)pump.Gearpump
sections(P1)and(P2)supplyhydraulicowforthemowcircuit.Thesegear
pumpstaketheirsuctionfromthehydraulicreservoir.
Themowcontrolmanifoldcontains2independentcontrolcircuitsforthefront
andrearcuttingunits.Eachcircuitissuppliedbyitsownpumpsection.Pump
section(P1)supplieshydraulicpowertotherearcuttingunitsthroughmow
controlmanifoldportP1,solenoidreliefvalve(MSV1),anddirectionvalve(MR1).
Pumpsection(P2)suppliesthefrontcuttingunitsthroughmanifoldportP2,
solenoidreliefvalve(MSV2),anddirectionvalve(MR2).Bothcircuitsshare
manifoldportT ,whichdrainstotheoilcooler,oillter,andhydraulicreservoir.
Onthemowcircuitsuppliedbypumpsection(P1)(rearcuttingunits),maximum
systempressureislimitedbysolenoidreliefvalve(MSV1),whichissetat17,500
kPa(2,500psi).Onthecircuitsuppliedbypumpsection(P2)(frontcuttingunits),
maximumsystempressureislimitedbysolenoidreliefvalve(MSV2),whichis
setat24,100kPa(3,500psi).
OnReelmaster5510/5510-D/5610machines,allcuttingreelmotorsare
equippedwithcrossoverreliefvalvestopreventhydrauliccomponentdamagein
caseacuttingreelshouldstall.
ThemachineToroElectronicController(TEC)usesinputsfromvariousmachine
switchestodeterminewhensolenoidreliefvalves(MSV1)and(MSV2)areto
beenergized.TheTECalsoprovidesaslightdelayinactivationoffrontand
rearcuttingunits.
Whensolenoidreliefvalves(MSV1)and(MSV2)arenotenergized(e.g.,reel
engageswitchintheOFFposition,cuttingunitsintheraisedposition),owfrom
pumpsections(P1)and(P2)isdirectedoutthemowmanifoldportTandreturns
tothehydraulicreservoir,by-passingthereelmotors.

Whensolenoidvalve(MSV1)isenergizedbytheTEC,pumpsection(P1)ow
entersmowcontrolmanifoldportP1andisdirectedtoreelspeedcontrolvalve
(FC1).Flowthroughthespeedcontrolvalveispressurecompensatedbylogic
cartridgevalve(EP1).Thelogiccartridgevalvemaintainsapressureof520
kPa(75psi)acrossthespeedcontrolvalve.Anyexcessowisreturnedtothe
hydraulicreservoir.Regulatedowcontinuesthroughvalve(MR1)andoutto
therearreelmotorstorotatethecuttingreels.Whenvalve(MR1)isintheMOW
position,therearreelsrotatecorrectlyformowing.Returnuidfromtherearreel
motorsisdirectedtothereservoirthroughvalve(MR1)andmanifoldportT .
Mowcircuitpressurefortherearcuttingunits(pumpsectionP1)canbe
measuredatmanifoldportG1.
Whensolenoidvalve(MSV2)isenergizedbytheTEC,uidowfromportP2is
directedthroughreelspeedcontrolvalve(FC2).Flowthroughthespeedcontrol
valveispressurecompensatedbylogiccartridgevalve(EP2).Thelogiccartridge
valvemaintainsapressureof520kPa(75psi)acrossthespeedcontrolvalve.
Anyexcessowisreturnedtothehydraulicreservoir.Regulatedowcontinues
throughvalve(MR2)andouttothefrontreelmotors.Whenvalve(MR2)isinthe
MOWposition,thefrontreelsrotatecorrectlyformowing.Returnuidfromthe
frontmotorsisdirectedtothereservoirthroughvalve(MR2)andmanifoldportT.
Mowcircuitpressureforthefrontcuttingunits(pumpsectionP2)canbe
measuredatmanifoldportG2.
