MowCircuit(5610-D)
A4-sectiongearpumpiscoupledtothepiston(traction)pump.Thegearpump
sections(P1)and(P2)supplyhydraulicowforthemowcircuit.Thesegear
pumpstaketheirsuctionfromthehydraulicreservoir(Figure73).
Themowcontrolmanifoldcontains2independentcontrolcircuitsforthefront
andrearcuttingunits.Eachcircuitissuppliedbyitsownpumpsection.The
pumpsection(P1)supplieshydraulicpowertotherearcuttingunitsthrough
mowcontrolmanifoldportP1andpumpsection(P2)suppliesthefrontcutting
unitsthroughmanifoldportP2.Eachmowcircuitincludesasolenoidcontrolled
proportionalvalve(SP1)and(SP2),alogiccartridge(LC1)and(LC2),acircuit
reliefcartridge(RV1)and(RV2),andamanuallycontrolleddirectionvalve(MV1)
and(MV2).BoththecircuitssharemanifoldportT,whichdrainstotheoilcooler,
oillter,andhydraulicreservoir.
Thecuttingreelmotorsareequippedwithacross-overreliefvalvetoprevent
hydrauliccomponentdamageincaseasinglecuttingreelstalls.
ThemachineTECusesinputsfromvariousinputstodeterminewhenthe
solenoidproportionalvalves(SP1)and(SP2)aretobeenergized.TheTECalso
providesaslightdelayinactivationoffrontandrearcuttingunits.
ReelsEngaged
WhenthereelengageswitchisturnedONandthecuttingunitsarelowered,the
proportionalvalves(SP1)and(SP2)areenergizedbytheTEC.Theenergized
valvesshifttodirectpumpowtowardthecuttingunitmotors.Theamountof
owfromthevalvesisproportionaltothecurrentappliedtothevalvecoilbythe
TEC.Thereelspeed(denedbytheInfoCenterreelspeedsetting)providesthe
inputfortheTECtooutputtheappropriateamountofcurrenttotheproportional
valvecoils.
Flowthroughtheproportionalvalves(SP1)and(SP2)ispressurecompensated
bythelogiccartridgevalves(LC1)and(LC2).Thelogiccartridgevalvemaintains
apressureof758kPa(110psi)acrosstheproportionalvalve.Anyexcessowis
returnedtotheoilcooler,returnlter,andhydraulicreservoir.
Themaximummowcircuitpressureislimitedbyreliefvalve(RV1)and(RV2).
Therearcuttingunitcircuitisprotectedbyreliefvalve(RV1)whichissetat
17,237kPa(2,500psi).Thefrontcuttingunitcircuitisprotectedbyreliefvalve
(RV2)whichissetat24,132kPa(3,500psi).
Mowcircuitpressurefortherearcuttingunits(pumpsectionP1)canbe
measuredatthemanifoldportG1,andmowcircuitpressureforthefrontcutting
units(pumpsectionP2)canbemeasuredatmanifoldportG2.
ReelsDisengaged
WhenthereelengageswitchisintheOFFpositionorthecuttingunitsareinthe
raisedposition,solenoidproportionalvalves(SP1)and(SP2)arenotenergized.
Pumpowcausesthepressuretoincrease,shiftingthelogiccartridges(LC1)
and(LC2).Thepumpowisroutedthroughtheshiftedlogiccartridgeandout
ofmanifoldportT1.Returnuidfromthemanifoldisdirectedtotheoilcooler,
returnlter,andhydraulicreservoir.
Whenthereelsaredisengaged,theinertialoadofthespinningreelsoverrun
thereelmotors,effectivelyturningthereelmotorsintohydraulicpumps.Check
valves(CV1)and(CV2)inthemowcircuitwillopentokeepthereelmotorcircuit
fullofuidsothatthemotorswillnotcavitate(llwithair).
