Note:Thegroomergearboxassemblyislocatedontheoppositesideofthe
cuttingunitfromthecuttingunithydraulicmotor.
RemovingtheGearBoxAssembly
1.Parkthemachineonacleanandlevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits
completelytotheground,shutofftheengine,settheparkingbrake,and
removethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Removethegroomerreelassembly;refertoRemovingtheGroomerReel
(page11–13).
Note:Ifthecuttingunitisequippedwithanoptionalpoweredrearroller
brush,removetherearrollerbrushcover,drivebelt,anddrivehousing
assemblytoservicethegroomerdrive;refertoRearRollerBrush–Optional
(cuttingunitswithpaintedsideplates)(page9–51)foradditionalinformation.
CAUTION
Contactwiththereelorothercuttingunitpartscanresultinpersonal
injury.
Useheavygloveswhenhandlingthecuttingreel.
3.Safelypreventthereelfromrotatingbyblockingthecuttingreelwithapiece
ofwoodnearoneofthereelspiders.
4.Ifinstalled,removetherearrollerbrushdriveshieldfromthegearbox.
