RemovingtheAirCleanerAssembly
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingunits,stopengine,engage
parkingbrakeandremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.Raiseandsupporthood.
2.Removeaircleanercomponentsasnecessary(Figure43).
3.RefertoTractionUnitOperator’sManualforaircleanerserviceand
maintenanceprocedures.
InstallingtheAirCleanerAssembly
IMPORTANT
Anyleaksintheairltersystemwillallowdirtintoengineand
willcauseseriousenginedamage.Ensurethatallaircleaner
componentsareingoodconditionandareproperlysecuredduring
assembly.

A.Ifserviceindicator(item6inFigure43)andadapterwereremovedfrom
aircleanerhousing,applythreadsealanttoadapterthreadsbefore
installingadapterandindicatortohousing.Installadaptersothatthe
groovesinadapterhexandadapterlterelementareinstalledtoward
serviceindicator(Figure44).Torquetheindicatorto1.4to1.6N∙m(12
to15in-lb).
B.Ensurethatevacuatorvalveonaircleanerassemblyispointeddown
afterassembly.
