Themow/transportswitchisanormallyclosedproximityswitchthatopenswhen
themowspeedlimiterisplacedintheTRANSPORTposition.Theswitchmounts
toabracketonthefootrestplatform(Figure252).Thesensingplateforthe
mow/transportswitchisthemowspeedlimiter.
TheT oroElectronicController(TEC)monitorstheoperationofthemow/transport
switch.
TestingtheMow/TransportSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,settheparking
brake,andshutofftheengine.
2.Beforeyoudisconnectthemow/transportswitchfortesting,ensurethat
youtesttheswitchanditscircuitwiringasaTECelectricalinputwiththe
InfoCenterdisplay;refertoUsingtheInfoCenterDisplayforTroubleshooting
(page7–28).
3.Iftheinputtestingveriesthatthemow/transportswitchandcircuitwiringare
functioningcorrectly,nofurthermow/transportswitchtestingisnecessary.
4.Iftheinputtestingdeterminesthatthemow/transportswitchandcircuitwiring
arenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththetest.
5.Locatethemow/transportswitch(Figure252).
6.TurnthekeyswitchtotheRUNposition(donotstarttheengine)andcheck
theLEDonthecableendofthemow/transportswitch.TheLEDshouldbe
illuminatedmowspeedlimiterisintheMOWposition.TheLEDshouldnotbe
illuminatedwhenthelimiterisintheTRANSPORTposition.
7.Ifthemow/transportswitchLEDdidnotfunctioncorrectly,dothefollowing:
A.Ensurethatthemow/transportswitchisproperlyadjusted;referto
AdjustingtheMow/TransportSwitch(page7–52).Ifnecessary,adjustthe
switchandreturntostep6.
B.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFpositionanddisconnectthe
mow/transportswitchconnectorfromthemainwireharness.
C.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting),checkthatthemainwireharness
connectorterminalforblackwireisclosed(continuity)totheground.
