RemovingtheMowControlManifoldAssembly
CAUTION
Beforeopeningthehydraulicsystem,operateallthehydraulic
controlstoreleasesystempressureandavoidinjuryfromthe
pressurizedhydraulicuid;refertoReleasingPressurefromthe
HydraulicSystem(page6–8).
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.ReadtheGeneralPrecautionsforRemovingandInstallingtheHydraulic
SystemComponents(page6–145).
3.Tilttheoperatorseatandengagetheseatproptoretaintheseatinthe
raisedposition.
4.Locatethehydraulicmowcontrolmanifold.
5.Forassemblypurposes,labelallthehydraulicandelectricalconnections.
Cleanthehydraulicconnectionsbeforelooseningthehydrauliclines.
6.Disconnectthehydraulichosesandtubesfromthettingsinthemanifold.
Allowthelinestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.Removeanddiscardthe
O-ringsfromthettings.
7.Installcleancapsorplugsonthehydraulictubesandttingstoprevent
contamination.
8.Disconnectthewireharnessleadsfromthesolenoidcoilsandswitcheson
themowcontrolmanifold.
9.Removethe3ange-headscrews(item19inFigure163)thatsecurethe
mowcontrolmanifoldtothebracket,andremovethemowcontrolmanifold
fromthemachine.
10.Ifnecessary,removethehydraulicttingsfromthemanifold.Discardthe
O-ringsthatwereremoved.
InstallingtheMowControlManifoldAssembly
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthemowcontrolmanifold,
lubricatenewO-ringswithcleanhydraulicuid,positiontheO-ringstothe
ttings,andinstallthettingsintothemanifoldports;refertoInstallingthe
HydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittingintotheComponent
Port)(page6–13).
2.Positionthemowcontrolmanifoldtothebracketandinstallthe3ange-head
screws(item19inFigure163)butdonotfullytighten.
3.Removethecapsandplugsfromthehydrauliclinesandttings.
4.LubricateandinstallnewO-ringsonthemanifoldttings.Usethelabelsthat
youattachedduringremoval,correctlyconnectthehydrauliclinestothe
ttingsandtightenalltheconnections;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicHose
andTube(O-RingFaceSealFitting)(page6–11).
5.Tightenthe3ange-headscrewstosecurethemowcontrolmanifoldto
thebracket.
6.Connectthewireharnessleadstothesolenoidcoilsandswitchesonthe
mowcontrolmanifold.
7.Lowerandsecuretheoperatorseat.
8.Checkthehydraulic-uidlevelinthehydraulictankandaddcorrectquantity
ofuidifnecessary;refertotheOperator’sManual.
