The RVP901 IFDR is the first commercial signal processor to perform
parallel FIR filtering, simultaneously on each channel. This allows
frequency agility receiving functions within the bandwidth of the analog
receiver. This frequency agility on receive unifies the transmit frequency
agility, introduced with the RVP900, allowing more advanced signal
processing concepts to be introduced in commercial weather radars.
The RVP901 IFDR performs the initial processing of the IF digital data
stream and outputs “I” and “Q” data values to the host computer through
the CAT5e Ethernet. In addition, the frequency, phase, and amplitude of
the burst pulse are measured.
