VERITAS NetBackup 5230 Hardware Installation Guide

■ Grasp an expansion DIMM card by the edges and remove it from the
anti-static package. Do not touch the components or gold fingers on the
card.
■ Position the DIMM card over a socket. Align the notch on the bottom edge
of the DIMM card with the key in the DIMM socket. (B)
■ Push the card straight down (C).
■ Slide the side retaining clips towards the card (D).
■ Verify that the retaining clips are inserted properly (E).
Installing the additional Maintenance Free Backup
Unit (MFBU)
To install the MFBU

Put on an ESD-compliant wrist strap or take other ESD-protective measures.

Remove the following components from the Expansion Storage Kit.
