2.6 Viewing Vertiv™ Liebert® EconoPhase Operation
When your Thermal Management System is a Vertiv™ Liebert® DSE system with a Liebert® EconoPhase pumped refrigerant
economizer (PRE) and a Vertiv™ Liebert® MC or MCV condenser, the Liebert® EconoPhase screen, Figure 2.1 below , shows
the operating mode of the system. The Liebert® DSE System Optimization feature is automatically employed and reduces
power consumption significantly because a PRE package consumes about one-tenth the power of the compressors.
Liebert® EconoPhase operation saves energy by eliminating compressor operation when outdoor ambient temperatures are
cool enough, or when the difference between the indoor and outdoor ambient temperature is satisfied. Liebert® DSE System
Optimization further improves efficiency by optimizing liquid refrigerant temperature and pressure setpoints in mid- and high-
ambient temperature conditions, thus reducing the operation of condenser fans while maintaining the appropriate heat
rejection capacity.
