Whencheckingoillevels,thevehiclemustbeparkedonlevelgroundandtheengine
atnormaloperatingtemperature.Componentsmustbelledtothecorrectlevel.
DONOTOVERFILL.
ThebesttimetocheckoilleveliswhiletheengineisCOLD(priortostartingatthe
beginningoftheworkday,orafterthevehiclehassatapproximately2hours).At
normaloperatingtemperature(engineoiltemperatureabove80°C[175°F]),oillevel
canbechecked15minutesaftershutdown.
Foraccurateoillevelreadings,thedipstickmustbeinsertedfullyintothedipstick
tube.ThelevelmustbeclosetotheFULLline(atleastbetweentheLOWandFULL
lines)onthedipstick,butmustNOTexceedtheFULLline.
