journal.Twolinesatthetopofthefrontbearingcapmarkthealignmentpointfor
positioningofthecamshaftandmakingtheadjustments.
Thetopdeadcenter(TDC)markisusedforbasiccamshafttiming.TheTDCmark
mustbebetweenthetwolinesonthefrontcamshaftbearingcapwhentheywheelis
at0°(topdeadcenterforcylinderNo.1).
Theenginemustbecold,60°C(140°F)orless,beforemakingtheseadjustments.
Camshaftmarkingsforsettingofvalvesandunitinjectors:
•WithoutVolvoEngineBrake:Markings1–6applytoadjustmentofinletvalves,
exhaustvalvesandinjectors.
•WithVolvoEngineBrake:Markings1–6applytoadjustmentofinletvalvesand
injectors.MarkingsE1–E6applytoadjustmentofexhaustvalves.
