Toreplacethefull-owmainlter:
1Makesuretheltercasingisthoroughlycleaned.Ifnotalreadydone,washthe
areaaroundtheltermountingadapterwithasuitablesolventandblowdrywith
compressedair.
2Putasuitablecontainerinplacetocollectspillage.
3Usingalterwrench,removetheltercasingfromthemountingbracketand
discardit.
4Applyathinlmofcleanengineoiltothesealinggasketofthenewlter.
5Screwthenewdrylterinplaceandtightenanadditional3/4to1turnbyhand
afterthegasketcontactsthebase.
6Ifnecessary,replacethewaterseparatingpre-lter.Seetheprecedinginstructions.
7Starttheengineandrunatidleforveminutestollthelterwithfuel.
8Checkforleaks.
CAUTION
Severeenginedamagemaybecausedbyattemptingtoprimethefuelsystemusing
anauxiliarypumporbyapplyingairpressureinthefueltank.Thesetechniques
maydestroysealsthatpreventfuelfromleakingintothecrankcase.
