sealsonoilandcoolantconduits.Thedesignoftheengineandheadgasketrequiresa
uniqueprocedureforinstallationofthecylinderhead.
Thescrewsandwashersatthesideguidetheheadintoside-to-sidealignmentasitis
laidonthegasketandblock.Screwspassedthroughthetiminggearplateintothe
headpulltheheadintoalignmentforeandaft.Small,stampedbossesonthegasket
holdtheheadclearofthesealsandallowittoglideaccuratelyintopositionagainstthe
plateduringinstallation.Tighteningtheheadboltsattensthebossesonthegasket.
Forthisreason,anewheadgasketmustbeinstalledwhenevertheheadisremoved.
