Thisengineisequippedwithimprovedspin-ontypeoillters.
DISPOSABLESPIN-ONOILFILTERREPLACEMENT
Changeoilandreplaceoilltersusingthefollowingprocedure:
Note:Installnewltersdry.
1Runtheengineuntilnormaloperatingtemperatureisreached.Then,shutoffthe
engineanddraintheoilbeforetheenginecools.
2Thoroughlycleantheareaaroundtheltersbeforeremoving.
3Usinglterwrench9998487orequivalent,removethespin-onltersandwipe
theltermountingbaseclean.
4Applyalmofcleanengineoiltothesealinggasketoneachnewlter.Applya
lmofcleanengineoiltothesealinggasketoneachnewlter.
5Installtheltersandtighten3/4to1turnafterthegasketcontactsthebase.
6Fillthecrankcasewiththerecommendedengineoil.
7Starttheengineandcheckforleaks.Runtheengineforapproximatelyve
minutes,thenshutitoffandrechecktheoillevel.Addoilifnecessary.
Note:UseofanythingotherthangenuineV olvoltersmaycausedamageandvoidthe
enginewarranty.Changeltersaccordingtotherecommendedmaintenanceschedule.
CrankcaseVentilationSystem
Thecrankcaseventilation(CCV)systemseparatorisnotrepairable.Ifthereis
apparentlyfaultyoperation,performtheseinspectionsbeforereplacingtheseparator.
1Inspecttheseparatorinlethoseandconnectorsatthevalvecoverandatthe
separator.Removeanyobstruction,oillm,residueandparticles.
2Inspecttheseparatoroutlethoseandconnector.Removeanyobstruction,oillm,
residueandparticles.
3Removetheseparatorandattempttoturntheturbinemanually.Ifitdoesnotturn
easily,replacetheseparator.
4Iftheturbineturnseasily,inspectandcleantheoiljetnozzle.
5Reassembletheseparatorandthehoses.
6Iffaultyoperationcontinues,continuefaulttracingwithGuidedDiagnostics.
