Therearethreelters,oneby-passandtwofull-ow,attachedtoahousingmounted
atthelowerrightsideoftheengine.Oilowthroughtheltersandthelubrication
systemiscontrolledbysixvalves,including:
•ReducingValve
•SafetyV alve
•OilCoolerThermostatValve
•OverowV alve,Full-FlowFilter
•OpeningV alve,PistonCooling
•ControlV alve,PistonCooling
Thereducingvalvemaintainsconstantsystemoilpressure.Thesafetyvalveprevents
excessivepressureduringperiodsofhighviscosity.Theoilcoolerthermostatvalve
preventsoilfromenteringthecooleruntilitwarmstothesetpoint.Theoverow
valveallowsoiltoby-passthelterifitbecomesclogged.Theopeningvalveprevents
oilfrommovingtothepistoncoolingoutletsuntilthesystemreachesthesetpressure.
Thecontrolvalveregulatestheoilowtothepistoncoolingchannels.
