Preparing Machine
Hopper Insert Installation
1. Insert hopper lift tubes (1) into receiving tube (2) on
end of discharge conveyor. Connect lift tube support
chains (3) to receiving hooks (4). Pull lift tubes out
to remove slack from support chains. Fasten lift
tubes using bolts (5) inserted through receiving and
lift tubes.
2. Center discharge conveyor and position over Weiler
hopper insert.
3. Use a suitable lifting device to lift the hopper insert.
Connect lifting device from lift points (5) on hopper
insert to lifting point on conveyor lift tubes (6).
4. Clear area of all personnel while raising conveyor.
Raise hopper insert with the conveyor high enough
that the bottom edge of the hopper insert will clear
top edge of the hopper flashing on paver.
NOTICE: Do not drive elevator or swing conveyor with
hopper insert lifted.
5. Maneuver paver until paver hopper is properly
positioned under hopper insert.
6. Lower hopper insert into paver hopper.
7. Remove lifting device.
8. Securely attach hopper insert into paver hopper with the chains and binders provided.
WARNING
Falling hopper insert can crush.
Use suitable lifting device. Do not use chains supplied with hopper insert.
Keep clear of raised hopper insert.
