Dump Hopper
1. Start and warm up machine. Refer to "Machine
Starting Procedure", page 3-7.
2. Use spray down system to lubricate all components
that contact asphalt. Verify all cleanout doors are
closed and latched.
3. Position machine with paver as required and set
park brake (1). Lower dump hopper caster wheels to
ground. Position discharge conveyor over paver
hopper or optional hopper insert.
4. Position guide chain marker to aid in maintaining
position of machine along paving path and position
discharge conveyor marker chain to assist in
maintaining conveyor discharge chute over
paver hopper.
5. Select desired ground speed mode (2).
6. Cycle Engine Speed Button (3) to high engine rpm.
7. Turn elevator (4), storage and discharge conveyor
(5) on.
8. Use Elevator Speed Dial (6) and Hopper &
Conveyor Speed Dial (7) to set chains to slow speed.
9. Lower dump hopper baffle (8) to keep material from
overloading the elevator chain.
10. An additional operator may be used on the ground,
near dump hopper to assist in dumping the trucks.
All necessary controls are provided for the hopper
controls on the ground. Optional truck signal lights
may be used to signal truck driver. Refer to
"Truck Signal Lights (Optional)", page 3-26 for
operating instructions.
11. Back truck up to push rollers on dump hopper.
