Regular Checks and Recommendations for WECS-9520
1. General
For safety, you must do a check of the redundant control systems and the
components in standby mode at regular intervals.
2. Monthly Checks
2.1 LOCAL MANUAL CONTROL (Local Control)
1) Do an engine start in LOCAL MANUAL CONTROL mode.
3. Quarterly Checks
3.1 Level Switch
For more data about the level switches, see 80161 Servo oil leakage system and
80191 Fuel leakage system.
Do the procedure that follows:
1) Do a check of the electrical cable junctions.
2) Remove the terminal cover from the sensor.
3) Change the selector switch from MAX to MIN.
Note: An alarm will be activated and the LED display on the sensor shows red.
4) Set the selector switch back to the original position.
5) Install the terminal cover to the sensor.
3.2 Power Supply to FCM-20, ALM-20 and Fuel Pump Actuators
Do the procedure that follows:
1) In the power supply box E85, make sure that all related circuit breakers are set to
on (see also 93621 Location of flex Electronic Components and the block
diagram in box E85).
Note: Do the check below only when the engine is stopped, e.g. during the
engine start procedure.
2) Do a check of the main supply switch-over functions as follows:
a) At the main switchboard (plant side), set to off then set to on the AC #1. The
WECS9520 must stay in full operation.
3.3 Pressure Switch PS5017C on Shut-off Valve
Note: If the pressure switch PS5017C on the shut-off valve is defective, you
cannot start the engine in LOCAL MANUAL CONTROL mode.
1) On the WECS9520 manual control panel, push the LOCAL MANUAL
CONTROL button (see 46181, paragraph 2.1).
2) Do the checks of the indications of the turning gear:
a) Engaged = switch open
b) Disengaged = switch closed.
