2. High Pressure Circuit
1) See 8019−1 Fuel System Fig. 1.
2) Make sure that the drain valve 3.65 (30) is closed.
3) At the driving end of the fuel rail 3.05 (15), make sure that the drain
screw 3.82 (31) is closed. If necessary, torque the drain screw 3.82 (31) to
200 Nm.
4) Make sure that the shut-off valves 3.33-3 to 3.33-6 (26), (27), (28) and (29), on
the connecting pipe (14) are tight and open. If necessary, torque the stop
valves 3.33-3 to 3.33-6 (26), (27), (28) and (29) to 100 Nm.
3. Vent of the Fuel Oil System
Note: The numbers in the parentheses ( ) below refer to items in 0720−1, Fig. 1
Configuration of fuel oil system. The numbers in the square brackets [ ]
refer to items in 4003−2, Control Diagrams. Numbers that do not have
parenthesis and square brackets refer to items in 8019−1, Fig. 1.
The fuel oil system can be vented manually as follows:
D Make sure that the engine control system WECS−9520 is set to on.
D Start the low pressure pump (19) and the booster pump (22).
When the booster pump (22) starts, fuel flows through the fuel pumps 3 [3.14], then
flows through the HP fuel pipes 10 [3.29] into the fuel rail 15 [3.05].
D Use the hand lever on the fuel shut-down pilot valve 34 [3.08] to vent the fuel rail
through the fuel pressure control valve 33 [3.06].
