Prepare the Cylinder Lubricating System
For more data, see 7218−1 Cylinder Lubrication, Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3, Fig. 4 and
Fig. 8. Make sure that:
1) The WECS−9520 engine and remote control systems are set to on.
2) The servo oil service pump 4.88 operates.
Do the checks that follow:
1) Make sure that on all ALM−20 the green LEDs come on.
2) Make sure that the ball valve 4.30-5 (5) is open (see Fig. 2).
3) Make sure that the ball valve 4.30-6 is open (only for 9-cylinder engines) (see
4003−3 Cylinder Lubrication).
4) Make sure that ball valve (5), downstream of the lubricating oil filter 8.17, is open
(see Fig. 3).
5) Make sure that the ball valve (9), downstream of the measurement tube (4), is
open (see Fig. 3).
6) Make sure that the shut-off valve (6) (to the servo oil inlet of the lubricating
pumps 8.06) is open (see Fig. 4).
7) Make sure that the ball valve (7) (lubricating oil pipe to the exhaust valve) is open
(see Fig. 8)
8) Make sure that the lubricating oil filter 8.17 and the measurement tube (4) have
no air (see Fig. 3).
9) Make sure that the lubricating pumps 8.06 have no air (servo and lubricating oil).
10) Make sure that the lubricating oil pipes to the lubricating quills have no air.
Note: You must only do the air removal procedure:
D Before first commissioning
D After maintenance
D After a long shut-down period
D When there are problems during operation (pressure, feed rate).
