3. Measure the camshaft journal diameters

inside diameter

. Replace the camshaft
and cylinder head if out of specification.
Checking the cylinder head
1. Eliminate carbon deposits from the com-
bustion chambers and check for deterio-
ration.
2. Check the cylinder head warpage using a
straightedge

and thickness gauge

in the directions shown. Replace if above
specification.
