2. Remove the Woodruff key, and then
remove the outer plate cartridge.
Checking the water pump and shift
rod
1. Check the water pump housing for defor-
mation. Replace if necessary.
2. Check the impeller and insert cartridge
for cracks or wear. Replace if necessary.
3. Check the Woodruff key

and the key-

in the drive shaft for wear.
Replace if necessary.
4. Check the shift rod for cracks or wear.
Replace if necessary.
