Installing the water pump
1. Install a new gasket

, the outer plate
cartridge

, and dowels

2. Install the Woodruff key into the drive
shaft.
3. Align the groove in the impeller

with
the Woodruff key

, and then install the
impeller onto the drive shaft.
4. Install the insert cartridge

into the
pump housing
7
, and then apply grease
to the inside of the insert cartridge.
NOTE:
Align the insert cartridge projection

with
the hole

in the pump housing.
5. Install the new O-ring

and pump hous-
ing assembly

into the lower case,
tighten the bolts

, and then install the

NOTE:
• When installing the pump housing, apply
grease to the inside of the housing, and
then turn the drive shaft clockwise while
pushing down the pump housing.
• Align the cover projection

with the hole

in the pump housing.
Installing the lower unit
1. Set the gear shift to the neutral position
at the lower unit.
