Installing the Battery
To install the battery:
NOTE: The battery is keyed to ensure that the battery is inserted properly. The notch in the battery must
face the back of the device.
1. Align the battery with the notch facing the back of the device.
2. Slide the battery into the handle of the device.

3. Press the battery into the handle until it snaps into place.
Charging the Battery
Before using the device for the first time, charge the battery using a cable or a cradle with the appropriate
power supply. For information about the accessories available for the device, see Accessories.
The device is equipped with a supercapacitor (supercap) which automatically charges from the
fully-charged main battery. The supercap requires approximately 10 minutes to fully charge. The supercap
retains random access memory (RAM) data in memory and WLAN connection for at least 30 seconds
when the main battery is removed during Hot Swap. After 30 seconds, the WLAN connection is dropped
and the RAM data is retained for 20 minutes.
