2.3.1. Checklist before Connecting to Patient
Before connecting the PPM3 to a patient:
1. If connecting the PPM3 to a new patient, clean the unit according to the
instructions in the Cleaning chapter.
2. Power up the unit, confirm that the startup tones sound (two tones
followed by two higher-pitched beeps).
3. Confirm that the power-on LED is lit on the front panel.
4. Confirm that the display comes up, showing the home screen.
5. If monitoring SpO
2
, connect sensor, confirm that LED is lit on sensor.
6. Press NBP Start Stop key, confirm that pump starts.
7. Press NBP Start Stop key again, confirm that pump stops.
If you notice any problem in going through the checklist, take the monitor out of
service and contact Zoe Medical Technical Support.
