5 Lead the free end of this tubing to your waste vessel.
Ensure the tubing is relatively straight and free of kinks, sharp bends or
upward slopes so waste liquid can drain freely into the waste vessel.
The free end of the tubing must remain above the level of the liquid in the
vessel.
WARNING
Fire Hazard, Explosion Hazard.
Failure to connect the drain tubing correctly can cause a flashback or an
explosion in the waste vessel.
Ensure that the tubing is configured as described in the previous step.
Use vessels made of a material that will not shatter in the event of a
flashback.
Do not use glass vessels.
4 If you are using materials that produce hazardous or flammable vapors, attach
a convenient length of 9 mm ID tubing to the upper outlet of the liquid trap.
5 Lead the free end of the tubing out from the sample compartment, parallel to
the drain tubing.
The tubing must slope downwards for its entire length to prevent it
becoming blocked should liquid drain from the vapor vent.
Lead the tube to an active exhaust system.
Do not lead the vapor tubing to the waste vessel.
