4 Press and hold the white button on the underside of the socket to release the
lamp.

5 Gently remove the lamp from the socket and release the white button.

lamp
The D
2
lamp will need changing approximately every 1000 operating hours. If you
need to replace D
2
lamps more frequently you should contact Agilent trained and
certified personnel for advice.
WARNING
Hot Surface.
The D
2
lamp and its cover become very hot during operation.
To prevent skin burns, allow the assembly to cool down before removing.
CAUTION
Do not handle the D
2
lamp or hollow cathode lamp optical surfaces with bare
hands.
To change a D
2
lamp:
1 Turn the instrument off and unplug the instrument from the power source.
2 Allow time for the D
2
lamp and housing to cool.
3 Remove the hollow cathode lamp in position 1 if fitted.
4 Undo the thumbscrew at the top of the D
2
lamp compartment.
5 Lift the lamp assembly up and out from the lamp compartment using the two
lamp alignment screws.
