Disinfection
To prevent the spread of respiratory illness, disinfect your instrument as needed.
Equipment needed:
• Clean powder-free nitrile gloves
• Clean lint-free cloth
• Gown
• Isopropanol
• Mask
To disinfect your instrument,
1 Put on personal protective gear (gloves, mask, gown).
2 Make sure your instrument is cooled to room temperature.
3 Dampen a clean lint-free cloth with the 70:30 isopropyl alcohol:water mix.
4 Gently wipe external surfaces to be cleaned using moistened cloth. Do not
allow any liquid to drip into the instrument.
5 Wipe the outer surface of cables and their connectors but do not touch the
electrical connections (for example pins and plugs inside the cable or
connection port).
6 Use one cloth per instrument to prevent cross contamination.
7 Dispose of the cloth appropriately
8 Allow all surfaces to completely air-dry. No moisture should be present on the
instrument surfaces.
9 Discard the gloves and other personal protective equipment or clean them in
an approved process, then wash your hands.
