abrupt or if you increase Smoothing, well, 'smooth'. Smooth Shape allows the same choice of
9 slopes for the Smooth stage as for the rest of the stages. -Note that to be able to utilize all of
the available Stages in a Loop, the Envelope Trigger Mode must either be Freerun or Modtrg.
All others will not allow the Loop to continue after the key(s) is (are) released.
5.15 quick reference – envelope modes:
Set this in the TRIGGER MENU, soft knob 7.
NORM 1 – proceed through cycle to sustain stage. If key is let go, jumps to Release 1.
NORM 2 – proceed through cycle to sustain stage. If key is let go, jumps to Release 2.
FRERUN – proceed through cycle even if the key or pedal is released before the sustain
stage.
SUSREL – proceed through cycle to RELEASE LEVEL 1 stage.
MODTRG – FREERUN triggered by an external source other than a keyboard. (Ribbon
controller? That’ s a cool possibility.)
MOD-TG – NORM 1 triggered by an external source other than a keyboard.
5.16 creating tremelo:
Modulate Envelope 3’ s level.
5.17 a possible way of doing a gated sound:

you could achieve some of what you are talking about by using the mod for the post filter mix
levels... use a square wave lfo with retrigger to mod the post filter mix and leave the envelope
open...
5.18 fast envelopes (by avoiding modulation):
The envelopes are on the fastest cycle of the Andromeda’ s CPU. Typically for drums, bass,
and some FX sounds, you need an envelope quickly going down in pitch on a self-oscillating
filter. It is therefore NOT RECOMMENDED to use modulation in order to achieve your
goals. Modulation takes place at a slightly slower pace and for certain sounds it is quite
audible. Stick with the ENV 2 AMOUNT knob for each filter, and the ENV 1 AMOUNT knob
for each oscillator.
5.19 improving envelope 3 clarity:
(eliminating vca saturation)

Have you noticed that if you lower the ENV3 level down to 80 or below, the A6 sounds a heck a lot
more dynamic, snappy, and with more clarity?
It actually removes that "constant" stable feel of the A6. Doesn't sound quite as mushy warm, but
much better audio quality mix wise. Must be subtle VCA staturation or something at level 100.
Give it a shot if you feel a sound lacks sparkle and snap or definition.
5.20 filter sustain hint:

I've noticed the envelope sounds much better if the sustain is set below zero, ie -10
