4.2 Preparation on the tractor
• Familiarize yourself with all functions on the tractor!!
• Read the operating manual of the tractor manufacturer!
Tyre pressure, especially that of the tractor's rear wheels, must be
identical.
Ballast weights:
Ensure adequate front ballasting of your tractor. The weight of the
plough on the rear lifting mechanism of the tractor relieves the load on
the front axle and can impair the steering and braking behaviour.
Moreover, the pulling force transfer (slippage) is improved with four-
wheel drive tractors.
The lifting rods H must be set to the same length
left and right. If the lifting rods H can be set on
the lower links U, then they should be set as far
back as possible. This relieves the load on the
tractor's hydraulic system.
Lateral stabilisation of the lower links:
The lower links U must have maximum possible
lateral movement during operation. Stabilizing
bars or tension chains S must never be tight
during ploughing. During transportation, the
lateral movement of the lower connecting rods U
must be greatly reduced or fully blocked.
For tractors with control hydraulics, ploughing is
mainly performed using pulling force or
combined control. Mounting and dismounting of
the plough is to be carried out in position control!
The inner distance between the
wheels must be the same at the
front and rear!
