11 Malfunctions and their correction
Plough does not penetrate
into the soil:
• Draw transverse furrows at the ends of the field
• Shorten the top link
• Replace the shares or use chisel shares
• Set the disc coulter and fertiliser skimmer higher up
• Reduce the pitch a little
The plough does not reach
the desired working depth:
• Set the support wheels higher up
• Lower the hydraulic system
• Shorten the top link
• Replace the shares or use chisel shares
Plough bodies work at
different depths:
• Readjust the top link
• Correct the pitch
Plough works unevenly:
• Shear pin on one of the plough beams broke off (replace)
The plough swerves towards
the landside:
• Increase the working depth
• Reduce the pitch
• Install additional glide plates
The plough will not turn
• Replace the implement coupling plug if it does not fit for the
tractor coupling part (opening stroke of the valve body)

Plough does not stay on
pitch (double-acting automatic
cylinder)
• Return cylinder to the factory, non-return valves are defective
Plough does not stay on
pitch (single-acting cylinder)
• Tractor control unit has a leak
• Replace the piston seal if oil is escaping.
