218 ALEXA XT Cameras
17 ALEXA XT Cameras
With the ALEXA XT cameras (Xtended Technology), ARRI is refreshing
the ALEXA product line, incorporating new features inspired by
feedback from professional users. These features expand on the
benefits that have already made ALEXA such an extraordinary success
highest overall image quality and lowest overall production cost
through reliability, ergonomics and efficient workflows.
The ALEXA XT, ALEXA XT M, ALEXA XT Plus and ALEXA XT Studio
cameras replace all previous models except for the original ALEXA.
Owners of existing ALEXA cameras will be able to purchase individual
upgrades that deliver most of the features of the ALEXA XT
configuration.
In the following, the features that are common to all ALEXA XT models
are listed.
XR Module
All ALEXA XT models include the XR (Xtended Recording) module,
which provides longer recording times and in-camera ARRIRAW
recording onto XR Capture Drives. For more details, please refer to
Section XR (Xtended Recording) (on page 56).
4:3 Mode
All ALEXA XT models support the 4:3 sensor mode, as described in
Section Sensor modes 16:9 and 4:3 (on page 163).
Open Gate Mode
Starting with Software Update Packet SUP 9.0, all ALEXA XT cameras
have the potential to use a new sensor mode called Open Gate, which
utilizes the full sensor for recording ARRIRAW.
Please note that for cameras delivered before November 2013, a sensor
calibration must be performed by an ARRI Service Center before the
Open Gate mode can be enabled. Most cameras delivered after
November 2013 have this calibration already included.
