7. SYNCHRONIZATION
BeatStep Pro can be the master clock for an entire MIDI rig, or it can just as happily serve
as a slave to any one of several sources. See Making The Connections [p.5] for connection
diagrams.
You can cycle through the various Sync options using the SYNC button. A white LED will let
you know which mode you’ve selected.
For example, in the illustration below the USB sync option has been selected:
: When the unit is playing a sequence, the Sync setting cannot be changed.
7.1. As Master
BeatStep Pro is the master clock when the INT button is lit. When this is the case:
The transport section will control the internal sequencers
MIDI clock messages are sent to MIDI out, USB MIDI, and the Clock output
The sequence tempo can be set using the TEMPO encoder and the TAP/METRO
button.
