If the second BI is negative, run a third BI to conrm sterilizer performance.
If either the second or third BI is positive:
i. Follow current hospital or healthcare facility policies and procedures
regarding quarantine, or retrieval, and reprocessing of potentially
non-sterile instruments and notication of the clinician(s).
ii. Report the positive BI to ASP including the product lot number.
iii. Have the sterilizer checked by ASP and do not use the sterilizer until the
unit has been checked.
The reader will ask for conrmation that the instructions have been viewed. Touch
Yes or remove the BI to continue to the Result Conrmation. Touch No to return to the
previous screen. In Result Conrmation, view the result summary by touching View and
Print Result Summary. Touch OK or remove the test BI from the well to return to the
Status Screen. Touching View and Print Result Summary opens the Result Summary
page. If a printer is connected to the reader, touch Print on the lower left to print the Result
Summary. Touch Add Note to leave notes about this specic result. Touch Done or remove
the BI to return to Result Conrmation. A red well number indicates a positive result on a
test BI. Touch the red well indicator number or remove the BI to go to Result Conrmation.
