Problem/Error Message Possible Cause Suggested Solution
Reader will not turn on. Power supply. Make sure the correct power
adapter is installed on the
reader and that it is plugged in
to an energized power outlet.
Ensure power cord is properly
seated in the back of the
reader. Wait 15 minutes after
connecting to power to ensure
completed boot up process.
If the problem persists,
contact ASP.
System status indicator is
blinking red.
System Failure. Unplug the power adapter
from the back of the reader.
Wait 30 seconds. Reinstall
the power adapter in the back
of the reader. If the problem
persists, contact ASP.
System status indicator is
solid red.
General System
Error.
Unplug the power adapter
from the back of the reader.
Wait 30 seconds. Reinstall
the power adapter in the back
of the reader. If the problem
persists, contact ASP.
Positive Control BI returns
a negative result.
Faulty instrument
well, faulty BI,
improper storage,
improperly activated
BI.
Repeat the test with a
second BI from the same lot
number as the failed control.
Ensure proper handling and
BI activation. Agitate the BI to
ensure the medium is free of
large bubbles and ows into
the growth reservoir.
Second Positive Control
BI returns negative result.
Faulty BI, improper
storage.
Stop using BIs from that lot
and contact ASP.
