Getting Up and Run ning
There are three main tasks to set ting up your 2700 se ries instrument:
§
In stalling the 2700 se ries con trol soft ware (AP2700) on the PC;
§
Con fig uring your 2700 se ries in stru ment for the lo cal mains power sup -
ply; and
§
Con nect ing the APIB in ter face, us ing ei ther the USB-APIB adapter or
by in stall ing an APIB in ter face card in the PC.
These tasks are de scribed be low.
In stalling AP2700 on a PC
PC Sys tem Re quire ments
Your 2700 se ries in stru ment must be con nected to a Win dows-ca pa ble PC
to op er ate. The cur rent con trol soft ware is AP2700 ver sion 3.30, SP1 (Ser vice
Pack 1). SP1 has added 64-bit com pat i bil ity to AP2700.
The PC must have the fol low ing op er at ing sys tem (OS), fea tures and ca pa -
bil i ties:

Win dows 7 Pro fes sional SP1 64-bit.
Win dows 7 Ul ti mate SP1 64-bit.
§
for op er a tion us ing a 32-bit OS:
Win dows 7 Pro fes sional SP1 32-bit.
Win dows 7 Ul ti mate SP1 32-bit.
Win dows Vista Busi ness SP2 32-bit.
Win dows Vista Ul ti mate SP2 32-bit.
Win dows XP Pro fes sional SP3 32-bit.
NOTE: You must have lo cal ad min is tra tor rights to in stall
AP2700 soft ware. Go to User Ac counts in the Win dows
Con trol Panel, or check with your net work ad min is tra tor.
§
You must have at least the min i mum pro ces sor type and mem ory re -
quired by Microsoft for the in stalled op er at ing sys tem.
§
You must have at least 300 MB of free hard disk space.
§
You must have CD-ROM drive.
§
for op er a tion us ing a 64-bit OS:
You must have a USB 2.0 port, and use the Au dio Pre ci sion USB-APIB
adapter.
