An a log Gen er a tor Chan nel B OFF.

An a log An a lyzer Chan nel A and B in put Sources set to the in ter nal gen -
er a tor path, GenMon.
The top most me ters in the An a log An a lyzer panel (just be low the Source
se lec tion fields) show the au dio level in volts. You should see ap prox i mately
1 V in the left-hand me ter (Chan nel A), and ap prox i mately 0 V in the right-
hand me ter (Chan nel B). Click the CHB but ton on the An a log Gen er a tor panel
to re-en able the Chan nel B gen er a tor sig nal. You now see ap prox i mately 1 V
in the right-hand level me ter on the An a log An a lyzer panel, since the Chan nel
B gen er a tor is now ac tive and its sig nal is be ing routed to the an a lyzer via the
GenMon in ter nal path.
The me ters in the next row of the An a log An a lyzer panel show the fre -
quency of the sig nal in each chan nel. Both of these me ters should be reading
very close to 1 kHz, the fre quency of the an a log gen er a tor.
Audible Signal Monitor
2700 se ries in stru ments have an in ter nal mono speaker to mon i tor both an a -
log and dig i tal in put sig nals. In ad di tion, the sig nal at the speaker is avail able
at the head phone jack on the in stru ment front panel. The vol ume con trol for
sig nals ap plied to both the speaker and the head phone jack is lo cated on the
front panel next to the jack. When a head phone plug is in serted into the jack,
the in ter nal speaker is dis con nected.
The sig nal ap plied to the speaker and head phone jack is se lected on the
Head phone/Speaker panel. Click the Head phone/Speaker but ton on the Panel
toolbar, or go to Panels > Head phone/Speaker on the Main menu. On the
Head phone/Speaker panel, drop the Source list and se lect An a log In put, and
turn up the front panel vol ume con trol. You will hear the 1 kHz tone from the
gen er a tor be come louder. In the de fault New Test setup, the Head phone/
Speaker mode is ste reo, and the mono speaker in the in stru ment sums both
chan nels of the sig nal. Click the CHA but ton on the An a log Gen er a tor to dis -
able the chan nel A sig nal. The speaker level will drop by about half, since it is
now re pro duc ing only the chan nel B sig nal. Click CHA ON again, and the
sound will get louder.
