Do NOT ser vice or re pair this prod uct un less prop erly qual i fied. Ser vicing
should be per formed only by a qual i fied tech ni cian or an au tho rized Au dio
Pre ci sion dis trib u tor.
Do NOT de feat the safety ground con nec tion. This prod uct is de signed to
op er ate only from a 50/60 Hz AC power source (250 V rms max i mum) with
an ap proved three-con duc tor power cord and safety ground ing. Loss of the
pro tec tive ground ing con nec tion can re sult in elec tri cal shock haz ard from the
ac ces si ble con duc tive sur faces of this prod uct.
For con tin ued fire haz ard pro tec tion, fuses should be re placed ONLY with
the ex act value and type in di cated on the rear panel of the in stru ment and dis -
cussed on page 13 of this man ual. The AC volt age se lec tor also must be set to
the same volt age as the nom i nal power source volt age (100, 120, 230, or
240 V rms) with the ap pro pri ate fuses. Dif fer ent fuses are re quired de pend ing
on the line volt age.
The In ter na tional Electrotechnical Com mis sion (IEC 1010-1) re quires that
mea sur ing cir cuit ter mi nals used for volt age or cur rent mea sure ment be
marked to in di cate their Mea sure ment Cat e gory. The Mea sure ment Cat e gory is
de fined by IEC 664 and is based on the am pli tude of tran sient or im pulse volt -
age that can be ex pected. This prod uct is clas si fied as Mea sure ment
Category I, ab bre vi ated “CAT I” on the in stru ment front panel. This equip ment
is rated for a max i mum in put of 230 Vpk, 160 Vrms and is in tended to be used
for the mea sure ment of au dio sig nals only. Do NOT use this prod uct for mea -
sure ments within Cat e go ries II, III, or IV.
Do NOT sub sti tute parts or make any mod i fi ca tions with out the writ ten ap -
proval of Au dio Pre ci sion. Doing so may cre ate safety haz ards.
