2700 Series Control Software
Overview
Most of your in ter ac tion with your 2700 series in stru ment will be through
the con trol soft ware, AP2700. Once the sys tem is plugged in, turned on and
con nected to your de vice un der test (or DUT), you will be mak ing all your ad -
just ments and tak ing all your read ings from your com puter screen.
The 2700 se ries con trol soft ware is a pow er ful and com plex pro gram, and
most of the 2700 Se ries User’s Man ual is ded i cated to ex plor ing and ex plain -
ing its many ca pa bil i ties. This chap ter provides an introduction to the soft ware
fea tures. Chap ter 5 pro vides a brief tu to rial on the ba sics of op er at ing the sys -
tem.
When or dered in the op tional GPIB con fig u ra tion (SYS-27xxG), a 2700 se -
ries in stru ment can also be con trolled by the in dus try-stan dard IEEE 488.2
Gen eral Pur pose In ter face Bus (GPIB). GPIB op er a tion is not cov ered in this
chap ter. See Chap ter 7 for more in for ma tion about the GPIB con fig u ra tion.
The User Interface
Like many Win dows ap pli ca tions, the 2700 se ries con trol soft ware has a
menu bar, a sta tus bar, toolbars, and a workspace. With these tools you can
save test and data files, ex port and print mea sure ment re sults, con fig ure both
the hard ware and soft ware to your needs, ac cess on line help, de sign and
launch au to mated pro cesses and open and op er ate the mea sure ment con trol
pan els.
The Workspace
The 2700 se ries workspace has five pages that you can se lect by menu com -
mands (View > Page #) or by click ing the num bered tabs on the Sta tus Bar.
