1.6.3 Installing the DDR5 SODIMM
NOTE:
Make sure to unplug the power connection before installing or removing SODIMMs, or
other peripherals from the system. Failure to do so may cause severe damage to both the
mainboard and the peripherals.
1. Locate the SODIMM sockets onboard.
2. Hold two edges of the SODIMM module carefully and keep away from touching its connectors
3. Align the notch key on the SODIMM module with the rib on the slot.
4. Firmly press the SODIMM module into the socket which will be snapped into the mounting notch
automatically. Do not force the SODIMM module in with extra force as the SODIMM module can
only fits in one direction.
NOTE:
1. DDR5 memory module is keyed with a notch so that it fits in only one direction.
2. DO NOT force the memory module into the socket in order to avoid damaging the
memory module and the socket.
3. DDR5 memory modules are not interchangeable with DDR/ DDR2/ DDR3/ DDR4.
Do not install DDR, DDR2, DDR3, or DDR4 SODIMMs to the DDR5 SODIMM sockets.
