BDCOM S6508 Switch Hardware Installation Guide
When replace the module or install the module to the chassis,must notice :
1) When install module, must wear ESD wrist.
2) Handle module by available handles or edges only; avoid touching the
printed circuit boards or connectors.
Avoid contact between the printed circuit boards and clothing. The wrist strap only protects
components from ESD voltages on the body; ESD voltages on clothing can still cause
damage.
2.1.5 Laser warning
Always install protective covers on unused or disconnected components to
prevent contamination.
Invisible laser radiation may be emitted from disconnected fibers or connectors.
Do not stare into beams or view directly with optical instruments.
2.2 General site requirements
S6508 chassis should operate in the house.For that the equipment operate well and
prolong longevity of the system, the chassis installed site has the following
requirements.
2.2.1 Reqirements of the rack
If the S6508 is planed to be installed in a rack, please confirm that the following
requirements should be reached.
It’s better to install the switch in openning rack. If the rack is closed, please
confirm that the rack have good airiness for cooling system.
The Rack is strong enough to support the weight of fully configured chassis.
The size of the rack meet the S6508 chassis.There are enough space for airflow.
The rack has proper grounded.
2.2.2 Air Flow conditions
Figure 2-2 shows The chassis airflow. It should have enough space near the air intake
and the air exhaust for the system cooling. After the cables being connected, the
cables should be packed to avoid close the air intake.
