BDCOM S6508 Switch Hardware Installation Guide
Temperature extremes can cause a system to operate at reduced efficiency and
cause a variety of problems, including premature life and failure of chips, and
failure of mechanical devices. Extreme temperature fluctuations can cause chips
to become loose in their sockets.
So, the temperature and humidity must be carefully controled to meet the requirements
as illustrated in table 2-1:

1) The measure point of temperature and humidity about equipment
working environment, is the measure that there is no protection board
on the front and back of bracket. It is the measure numerical value
that 1.5m distance to floor and 0.4m distance to front panel of
equipment.
2) The short time of working condition indicate that the sequence doesn’t
overrun 48 hours and the accumulative total doesn’t overrun 15 days.
3) The extreme scurviness working environment, usually indicate that the
environment temperature and humidity which can get right range
among 5 hours when there is trouble in the room air-condition system.
2.2.4 Air Environment
Fans will ingest dust and other particles, causing contaminant build up in the system
and increased internal chassis temperature. A clean operating environment can greatly
reduce the negative effects of dust and other particles, which act as insulators and
interfere with the mechanical components in the system. The requirement of the
concentration and the diameter of the dust in the chassis operating room are showed
in Table 2-2.

Expect the dust, there are some nocuous gases in air. These gases can cause
corrosion of internal components and degradation of properties. The operating room
must prevent the nocuous gas

Such as sulfur dioxide, sulfureted hydrogen, nitrogen

in. The limits of nocuous gas are showed in Table 2-3.
