3.8 COUNTERWEIGHT, PRI-
MARY GEAR AND CLUTCH
UNIT
Before reassembling the clutch unit, it is required
to carry out some checks on the various compo-
nents described below.
3.8.1 INSPECTION OF COUNTER-
WEIGHT AND PRIMARY
GEAR
Check that the teeth of the primary gear and the
counterweight are free from nicks and traces
of abnormal wear. Otherwise, replace the worn
parts.
3.8.2 APPLICATION OF PRIMA-
RY GEAR AND COUNTER-
WEIGHT

Apply the O-ring 18, the spacer 12 and gear 14 on
the right half shaft so the appropriate groove fits
with the Woodruff key 17.
Apply the counterweight 1 on the support shaft,
taking care to align the references A on the coun-
terweight and primary gear.
Apply the screw 2 on the counterweight support
shaft after applying medium strength threadlocker.

Apply the O-ring 18, gear 12 on the right half shaft
so the appropriate groove fits with the Woodruff
key 17 and gear 14.
