Navigation (route guidance)
Starting navigation
Once you have entered a destination, the destination address appears in the
display. If you want to start a navigation session in order to be guided to this
destination,
1 press the OK button ;.
If you want to begin a navigation session to guide you to the last destination in a
memory bank,
1 press the NAV button 7 repeatedly until the required memory bank con-
taining the last destination appears in the display.
2 Press the OK button ;.
Route calculation
After navigation is started, the system begins calculating the route. Whilst the
calculations are being carried out, a compass card symbol points in the direction
of the destination, the CALC ROUTE message is displayed, and the voice output
informs you that “The route is being calculated”. Furthermore, the distance to
the destination as the crow flies is displayed.
If the vehicle is on one of the digitised roads, navigation will begin with audio
and visual driving recommendations as soon as the route has been calculated.
Note: If the vehicle is currently on a non-digitised road, OFF ROAD
appears in the display.
If the system cannot calculate a route to the selected destination,
NO ROUTE appears in the display.
If you leave the area covered by the navigation CD, OFF MAP ap-
pears in the display.
If any of these cases arise, follow the compass card symbol. As
soon as you drive onto a digitised road again, audio and visual driv-
ing recommendations will resume.
