4. Product description
4.1 Intended use
! If the BAT 115 and the scope of delivery are
operated contrary to the way specified by the
manufacturer in the operating instructions, the
protection provided by the BAT 115 and the
supplied accessories may be compromised.
The portable and network-independent BAT 115 was
developed for mobile use. It is used for non-invasive
testing of 6 volt and 12 volt starter batteries (lead-acid
batteries, AGM flat and spiral batteries, gel batteries,
EFB batteries) and inspection of 12/24 volt starting
systems for cars, water crafts, motorcycles and light
commercial vehicles. You can check the batteries either
in the vehicle while installed or when removed. It
displays the test results and is equipped with a printer
that can provide a printout of the measurement results.

i For battery assessment, the BAT 115 must be
provided with the correct input of the battery type,
the cold start current (CCA) in amperes and the
battery standard (EN, EN2, DIN, SAE, IEC, JIS,
MCA). Information on cold start current, battery
standard and battery type can usually be found on
the battery housing of the battery manufacturer.

4.3 Switching on and off
i BAT 115 has an on/off switch. BAT 115 is switched
on when the battery clamps are connected to
a vehicle battery and the internal batteries are
inserted and not discharged.

1. Connect the BAT 115 to the vehicle battery.
The BAT 115 is switched on. An evaluation of the
open circuit voltage is performed and displayed.
